Example 1:

Let us imagine that we want to find information on the Residencia de Estudiantes and do not know where it is located.
To begin, go to the most generic area of the "Database selection screen": the section "All documents".
In the "Title" window, key in "Residencia de Estudiantes" to locate all the documents that include this expression in their title:

The result obtained from the data inserted is as follows:

This list indicates the categories in which there are documents corresponding to our search. Remember that this is an example and that the results of the search may change as the Virtual Archive database grows.

A rapid consultation of the description of each entry (by clicking on the link) clears up what is apparently a contradiction; the expression appears in the extended title:

The link "Periodic publications" provides a list of the periodic publications whose extended title includes the expression we are looking for:

We can see that a new button: . appears in one of the entries. This indicates that the description of the document includes links to digitalised images. If we go to the description and click on the title, the following will appear:

The presence of the two buttons shows that there are digitalised images that may be accessed, by clicking on them. The first of these shows the cover of the first number of the magazine Residencia (January-April 19126):

The second is a summary of that same number:

The third category providing material related to what we are looking for in this example is "Archive documents". By clicking on the link, 35 items appear in the "Extract of descriptions". Because of the large number of these items, they are distributed across three screens (to move from one screen to the next, click on the "Next page" button):

As may be appreciated, here also there are numerous indicators of digitalised images. If we go to the descriptions of the documents and click on the buttons, we may obtain images such as the following:

Drawing of the view from the pergola window of the
Residencia de Estudiantes, 1912, Madrid. [G. material 1912]

Staging of the play Don Juan Tenorio at the Residencia de Estudiantes [1920],
